In the photo above, front row, L to R: Warren Parks Kirkland, Hiram Jacob Kirkland, Jr. (1844-1930), Winnifred Lucy Kirkland Tisdale (1883-1965) and Esther Emily White Kirkland (1855-1945). In the back row L to R: Elmer Kirkland, Ralph Carlton Kirkland and Leslie Eugene Kirkland. Warren is the brother of Hiram. Hiram and Esther were married and the other men and young woman are their children. This was taken about 1904 in North Dakota before Hiram, Ralph and Winnifred traveled to Washington State to begin a new life.
Hiram Jacob Kirkland, Sr. (1808-1871) born in NY, died in WI, is the patriarch of our family. To date we have not been able to determine his parents or where in NY he came from, but family history states that the family was of Scotch descent. More information will be added as available.
